Turning a charity’s message into something people can use

Act4Africa needed a fundraising pack they could hand to supporters — something that didn’t just explain their work, but helped people actively raise money for it.

They already had strong brand guidelines in place, but needed support turning that into something tangible. I came in as a digital consultant to shape their messaging into a clear, engaging pack that people would actually use.

The challenge

This wasn’t just about designing something that looked good — it needed to work in real situations.

Supporters would be using the pack in conversations, events, and outreach. It had to:

  • Clearly explain the charity’s work

  • Make the impact feel real and immediate

  • Give people practical ways to fundraise

  • Be easy to navigate and refer back to

All while staying consistent with an existing brand.

The approach

I worked closely with the team to gather the right information and shape it into something structured and usable.

Rather than treating it like a static brochure, the focus was on flow — guiding someone from understanding the mission, to seeing the impact, to actually taking action.

Each section plays a clear role, making the pack easy to move through and easy to use.

Making the impact tangible

A key focus was making the impact feel specific.

Instead of broad messaging, the pack shows exactly what donations can do — turning support into something concrete and relatable.

This makes it much easier for fundraisers to communicate value and encourage action.

Going beyond the brief

Alongside the core design work, I looked for ways to make the pack even more usable.

For the digital version, I introduced clickable navigation using Adobe Acrobat — turning it from a static document into something interactive.

It allows supporters to jump between sections depending on what they need, making it much more practical in real conversations.

A small addition, but one that makes the pack quicker to use and more effective overall.

The outcome

The result is a clear, practical fundraising pack that supports real conversations — not just awareness.

It gives Act4Africa a tool they can confidently share with supporters, helping them communicate their work and raise more for the cause.

More importantly, it bridges the gap between understanding the mission and actually taking part in it.
